dc.description.abstract A survey of the literature indicates that money (which is an important concept in a number of theories of work motivation) could mean different things to different people. Since this difference can be ascribed to early life experiences and personal factors, it could be expected that Coloureds and Whites would differ with respect to their evaluation of money. A semantic differential administered to 128 white and 109 coloured students, however, revealed no significant differences in general. The two groups differed significantly on only 2 of the 15 semantic scales. en
