dc.description Inaugural lecture--Department of Psychology, Rand Afrikaans University, 30 April 1981 en
dc.description.abstract Since its establishment, psychology has developed phenomenally. Yet, everyone who is acquainted with the corpus of knowledge in psychology, realizes that the discipline cannot provide clear answers to most questions on human functioning. The development of a general theory of human behaviour, based on a General Systems approach of living systems, are explored. The challenges of this approach are also explored with regard to the training of the psychologist, the practice of psychology and research in psychology. en
